Mr. Oboden Valentine Ibru is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited. He holds two Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degrees in Finance and Decision Sciences from the University of San Francisco, USA, and a Master of Business Administration from the International Graduate School of Management (IESE), Navarra, Spain. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a fellow of the Institute of Directors. 

He is a finance and governance powerhouse with over twenty-eight (28) years of experience in the financial services related sectors. Prior to his role as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited, he served on the Midwestern Board for four years in a non-executive capacity and brings to bear his vast corporate and professional knowledge. 

He has held key positions in treasury, branch management and operations before being made the Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of Oceanic Bank International Plc., following which he set up the investment banking house, Oceanic Capital Company Limited, as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. 

He has held numerous board appointments in the past such as Oando, BusinessDay and Aero Contractors, and currently serves on the boards of Primera Microfinance Bank Limited and MetroHealth HMO Limited. 

He is passionate about sports, including rugby, basketball, football, and field hockey, enjoys road running and water sports, and is interested in movies and reading.
